Working for Working Families

Working moms and dads need a break... and a livable wage.

The past year has been dreadful when it comes to the working families in Iowa. Essential

workers are told they are essential, however the pay they receive is often not enough to keep

them from working two or three jobs. How does that support the concept of family when Mom

or Dad can’t be home because of their inability to earn a living wage at a single job. As

Democrats we realize the importance of hard work and determination but at the same time, by not paying a living wage, we are creating a class of Iowans who may never see economic liberty.

We call upon our legislature to stop toying with the lives of people who find themselves cash

strapped and unable to truly enjoy family life.
