We respect the privilege of voting!

The Windsor Heights Democrats have been asked by the Clive Democrats to help in a petition drive demanding that the Clive City Council hold a special election so the people of Clive have the opportunity to elect a member of the City Council.

According to our friend Lyla Starr the Clive City Council had, for forty years, appointed a council member rather than hold a vote. And, guess what....they always appointed a Republican to the post. That all ended in 2021 when the Clive Democrats submitted a petition with over 400 signatures demanding the right to vote. And guess what....we elected a fine Democrat, Srikant Mikkilineni to office.

Srikant has accepted a promotion but must move out of the City of Clive which means his seat will be vacant. And, of course, the City Council seeks to appoint a new member. But, we believe in voting! So, once again we are in the streets asking people to sign a petition for an election.

We need over 511 signatures and we must get them before May 10th. So, we are on it. If you would like to help please make contact with me at 515-570-2220 (Cell) and let's do this!
