It was a stunning rebuke of book-banners and folks who want to marginalize so many of our citizens. Election Night 2023 was a clean sweep for Democrats running for School Board positions in West Des Moines. But it wasn't only West Des Moines. We had big wins in Johnston and even Ankeny! It showed the radical right that Iowa does not appreciate the government and ultra-conservative agitators who are pushing their bigoted agenda.
This was the scene late into the evening on Election Night as members of the Windsor Heights Democrats mingled with the Clive Democrats and the West Des Moines Democrats. It was a full house.
We are so grateful for those of you who knocked doors, made phone calls, wrote postcards and helped us carry the day.
Meanwhile, just a few days after the election members of the Polk County Neighborhood Leadership Committee met at the Polk County Democratic Headquarters to share their stories of what worked and what we need to do moving forward for the 2024 Iowa Caucus. As you can see we had a large crowd there as well.
Democrats are fired up and ready to push back against the radical right and win. We hope we can continue to count on your support. Thank you all for what you do!
